The SIGUCCS Academy @ SIGUCCS 2024

At the 2024 conference, SIGUCCS introduces Academy sessions. Designed to balance practicality with the hallmark SIGUCCS experience, each academy session provides a half-day of structured and interactive workshops tailored for learning useful skills. Sign up and enhance both your skills and connections at SIGUCCS 2024. Attendees have the option to register for one (1) Academy session at no cost as part of their conference registration.

Monday April 8th – The SIGUCCS Academy Effective Service Management micro credential track is designed to equip professionals with essential strategies and best practices across three key domains: customer service, IT support efficiency, and effective hiring. Each domain will be covered in a one hour session.

Tuesday April 9th – The SIGUCCS Academy Strategic Communication in Technology Support micro credential is tailored for higher education IT support staff who aim to refine their client communication abilities. This training explores groundbreaking communication strategies, ranging from the application of generative AI to the psychology of conversation and trust. The program is outlined in three specialized sessions: Enhancing User Services Communication with Generative AI, Conversations / Good and Hard, and Understanding Trust.

Wednesday April 10th – The SIGUCCS Academy Knowledge Management micro credential track equips higher education IT professionals with specialized knowledge and skills to implement effective knowledge management frameworks within their service centers. This specialized workshop focuses on understanding what a knowledge management framework is, the basics of effective technical writing, and developing an implementation plan for your IT Service Desks.
