We recognize that sometimes funding for attending SIGUCCS can be challenging. Justifying the time and expense of a professional development experience is often connected to developing specific skills. The Academy program will make it clear what new and enhanced skills can be developed by attendees.
The SIGUCCS Academy provides concrete skill-based training by practicing professionals, providing techniques in key areas of higher education IT support services. Providing options for skill-based training as part of conference attendance, allows attendees to both develop then experience the unique networking, inspiration, and personal growth benefits that already come with attending. The Academy also provides a unique opportunity for experienced SIGUCCS practitioners and leaders to use their knowledge and expertise to equip the next generation of technical support professionals with the skills they need to succeed and grow professionally.
The program will also include a micro-credentials system. Active participation in Academy workshops will be formally recognized with micro-credentials, observable confirmation of your professional development. These micro-credentials can be used to showcase your newly acquired skills and competencies to your peers, managers, and future employers.
