Your support in staying at the SIGUCCS contracted hotel helps keep the conference costs down, which directly affects your registration fees. SIGUCCS contracts for the best possible room rates for its events and is required to guarantee a predetermined number of sleeping rooms. If the organization does not meet the contracted room block, the hotel can charge an attrition fee, which will result in higher registration fees at future conferences. Airline Travel Notes:
O’Hare and Midway are the two major airports serving Chicago and surrounding areas. Both airports are 30 minutes to 60 minutes from the hotel by rideshare / taxi depending on traffic. From O’Hare you can take the train (CTA) to Clark/Lake and then walk about 20-25 minutes to the hotel (this avoids a transfer). From Midway, the train takes about and hour, includes a transfer between lines. However, the walk is only about 10 minutes from the Grand station.
