Monday Evening Update

Today was a fantastic start  to SIGUCCS 2025, and there’s even more to look forward to tomorrow! Get ready for another full day of engaging sessions, insightful discussions, and valuable networking opportunities. Whether you’re planning to dive into workshops, connect with peers, or explore new ideas, tomorrow is all about building on the energy and inspiration of today.

Here’s your quick preview of what to expect tomorrow at SIGUCCS 2025.


Tomorrow’s Highlights:

Breakfast:

6:30 AM – 9:00 AM
Breakfast is included with your hotel stay and is located in the lobby area on the fourth floor.


SIGUCCS Academy

9:00 AM – 12:20 PM
The SIGUCCS Academy is a professional development initiative designed to provide higher education IT professionals with practical, skills-based learning opportunities. Building upon SIGUCCS’s longstanding tradition of fostering career growth and networking, the Academy offers structured workshops and interactive sessions aimed at enhancing workplace competencies. 

Attend all three sessions in one of the following tracks to earn a badge.

  • Customer service
  • Student worker management
  • Project management

Each session will include breaks for snacks.


Lunch – On Your Own

12:20 PM – 2:00 PM
Take this time to connect with fellow attendees over a delicious lunch.

Afternoon Session:

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Choose from three engaging sessions:

Explore how any job can be a pathway to a cybersecurity career (or another career of your choice) or gain insights into navigating the learning curve of endpoint management systems, or, learn how to move from reactive to proactive by leveraging learning management systems to create a more accessible learning experience.


Afternoon Panel:

Student Voices
3:15 PM – 4:30 PM
Join us to hear from our panel of students from various universities as they share firsthand experiences of navigating campus IT support—inside the classroom, online, and beyond. Hear their stories, challenges, and insights on what works, what doesn’t, and how IT services can better support student success.

Evening Reception / Dinner on your Own

5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Continue the conference conversations at the evening reception before heading to dinner.

 Included with your hotel stay and located in the lobby area on the fourth floor. 

What do I do about dinner?

Personally, I’m going to snack at the evening reception before going to the poster session. 

If you prefer a sit down dinner, I recommend that you skip the evening reception so that you don’t miss the poster session and the Award Winners toast at 8:00pm.


Poster Session

6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Join us for a dynamic Poster Session & Dessert Reception, where fresh ideas meet sweet treats! Explore innovative projects, research, and best practices from your peers in an interactive, informal setting. Engage with presenters, exchange insights, and spark new collaborations—all while indulging in a delicious selection of desserts. Whether you’re looking to discover new strategies or simply enjoy great conversations over something sweet, this session is the perfect blend of learning and networking. Don’t miss this chance to feed both your mind and your sweet tooth!

We will finish the event with a toast to our 2024 Hall of Fame and Penny Crane award winners.


Hospitality Suite

8:00 PM – 12:00 PM
Our Hospitality Suite is the perfect evening retreat for attendees to unwind, connect, and enjoy some casual fun. Whether you’re looking to engage in lively board games, have meaningful conversations, or simply relax in a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be. 


Quick Reminders:

  • Location: All events will take place on the third floor of the Embassy Suites, Downtown Convention Center, except where noted.
  • Dress Code: Business casual, but feel free to dress in layers – Denver’s weather can be a bit unpredictable and conference meeting spaces can be air-conditioned!
