ACM SIGUCCS 2025 is just one week away, and I couldn’t be more excited for this year’s theme: Peak Performance: Innovate, Collaborate, Elevate. As we come together, we have an incredible opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another, and push the boundaries of innovation in technology and higher education.
This conference is more than just sessions and keynotes—it’s about the connections we make, the challenges we tackle together, and the inspiration we take back to our institutions. Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a returning SIGUCCS veteran, I encourage you to engage, ask questions, and collaborate with your peers. We encourage you to check out the full agenda and download Sched now to start planning your schedule to ensure you don’t miss a moment of the excitement.
Additionally, we have two exciting panel sessions planned, and the participants would like to gather questions for their discussion. Please provide your questions by the end of this week.
The first of these panels is “Student Voices” and will take place on Tuesday afternoon. Our panel will include students from various universities discussing what life is like seeking support for their IT needs on campus, in classrooms, and online. Provide your suggestions for questions here.
The second of these panels is “CARE: An Empathy-Based Approach” where our SIGUCCS member panelists will discuss how they approach the management of student employees, and it will take place on Wednesday morning. Provide your suggestions for questions here.
If you are coming to Denver early or arriving early on Sunday, why not explore the city a little. We are not far from some interesting museums like the Denver Art Museum, Clyfford Still Museum, Kirkfield Museum of Fine and Decorative Art, Molly Brown House Museum, or the History Colorado Center. Check out the current exhibits at each to decide where you might like to explore!
Navigating around the hotel on the 16th Street Mall during construction may require some extra planning, but there are still plenty of convenient ways to explore the area. The free MallRide shuttle, which typically runs along 16th Street, may have detours or modified stops, so be sure to check updated routes on our web site. Pedestrian access is maintained, though some sidewalks and intersections may be temporarily closed or rerouted. Many shops, restaurants, and attractions remain open, and alternative side streets offer additional walkable paths. We recommend allowing extra time to get to your destination and using navigation apps or hotel concierge services for real-time updates on construction impacts. Despite the work in progress, the vibrant energy of downtown Denver remains, offering plenty to see and do just steps from your stay!
Get ready for an amazing week of learning, networking, and growth. See you soon!
Warm regards,
Lisa Brown
